Natural Dye Maxi Dress / Eucalyptus

A bespoke piece, hand-dyed by botanical dye artist, Phoebe Hunter. This one-of-a-kind 100% hemp Maxi Dress has been dyed with eucalyptus leaves.

Natural Dye: Eucalyptus leaves (Eucalyptus Macrocarpa)

Artist Notes: We were lucky enough to move into a property that had a 30+ year old Macrocarpa tree (common name mottlecah) planted square in the middle of the yard. They are incredibly sculptural and have some of the biggest leaves in the Myrtle (Myrtaceae) family (up to 12 cm in length and 8 cm in width). The colour from these silver blue/grey leaves varies throughout the year and the water source. The pigment we see dyed on the hemp pieces in this collection is a rich sienna peachy tone.

Style: Maxi Dress

Care: Gentle cold machine or hand wash with natural detergent. Dry in shade to extend colour life. Do not tumble dry. Store out of direct sunlight. Some fading and colour loss can occur with naturally dyed pieces.

Due to the nature of the natural dye process, garments may have some dye imperfections. These are not deemed as faults or defects. Each item is unique and a one-of-a-kind piece of wearable art.
